Build a bamboo bike
I am looking for suggestions about which course I could do. Yep, which course? I’ll explain later why I am wanting to do some kind of “course” but I’m just not sure and could do with a bit of inspiration.
I have in mind something hobby, sport, or food related. So far my wife Rachel has come up with a number of “helpful” suggestions such as pond maintenance, shed building, DIY, garden design and so on. While these are very laudable, none quite hit the mark.
So far I have thought of:
- Bamboo Bicycle Club – building my own bamboo bicycle frame (link)
- Coffee roasting (link)
- Wheel building course (link)
- WordPress course (link)
Some of my lovely Facebook friends have suggested New Testament Greek (thank you Brian!), patchwork quilting, painting, knitting, craft things, gourmet chef, delegating, kayak building and kayaking. All pretty good but not quite hitting the mark.
Why?
Well, I think I have been successful in claiming a retrospective pay award from my old job which I left in December 2016. Every year the pay award wasn’t normally agreed until February and then backdated for the financial year. Since I left in December (9 months through the financial year) why shouldn’t I be paid this? After a few friendly emails and a little wait, it has been agreed. Rachel insists I keep it and divert it away from our normal household expenses.
“Enjoy yourself with it” she said “you deserve it, you worked hard for it while you were there”.
Suggestions please!
